I was once one of the largest chinchilla breeders in the world. I spent 32 years breeding, showing and pelting chinchillas. So I know leather and what makes a good leather. During this time I spent almost 20 years in the US Army. I ended my military career as a 66P (Nurse Practitioner), in the pediatric oncology field. Went on to earn my Doctorate in this field. Spending two tours to Iraq and a 6 month stint in Afghanistan I knew my passions were all over the place. Four years ago I took on the assignment as a Professor of Equine Studies where my passion for western life style quickly grew. I have rode in every saddle known to be made and have spent time fixing and repairing them. My family quickly moved to Colorado where that passion grew even further. As I cowboy'd in the mountains of Colorado I began to think about the future and noticed many cowboys had one thing in common their gear was falling apart and there was no one to fit them. As my gear started to fall apart due to the weather and conditions of the mountains, I began to repair them. I found a need to help other cowboys and my focus quickly started to change to repairing their gear. The one thing I was limited on was fixing their boots; I also noticed there was a trend with the cowboys gear and even my military gear, the lack of quality. The lack of quality in these items is what drew me to repair and custom cowboy boots. This journey has been slow going as my attention to detail can sometimes be the dead of me but my knowledge for leather has only grown. I take pride in my work and cowboys still come first to this very day! From caring for my animals, patients, soldiers, students and now your items, one thing I never let go, my attention to the details and my drive to learn.
