Terms & Conditions

Please read these Terms and Conditions (“Agreement”, “Terms and Conditions”)  carefully before using https://bravesoleleatherandrepair.com/ (“the Site”) operated by Kolin Rhoades (“us”, “we”, or “our”). This Agreement sets forth the legally binding terms and conditions for your use of the Site at  https://bravesoleleatherandrepair.com/


By  accessing or using the Site in any manner, including, but not limited  to, visiting or browsing the Site or contributing content or other  materials to the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms and  Conditions.


Repair Services & Shipping Disclaimers

1.  When using our services, you are agreeing to allow our expert craftsmen to decide on the best repair solutions for your item(s). Be assured that your item(s) will be  repaired in the best, most cost effective, and aesthetically pleasing  manner possible. Additionally, we do not carry any original manufacturer components. We will always attempt to match the functionality and look of any component as closely as possible. If we believe there will be a significant difference in looks or functionality, we will contact you to  discuss prior to beginning any repair work.
 

2. Brave Sole uses a 3rd party carrier for shipping repair orders  to and from their repair facility, and thus Brave Sole is not liable for any losses or damages incurred during shipping. Customer agrees that Brave Sole is not liable for any losses or damages of  repair orders shipments due to carrier error, theft, loss of unattended  packages, weather, improper packaging, incorrect customer information on  order, insufficient shipping or any customer error during order  placement, drop off or pickup. When shipping items to Brave Sole, do not use an oversized box. Using a box that is too large could result  in damage (e.g. excess movement during transit). Brave Sole is not liable for any losses or damages incurred due to poorly packaged  shipments. Additional fees will be added for oversized boxes and  customer agrees to paying these fees. For return shipments (back to  you), if your delivery address is not secure, please choose the  SIGNATURE REQUIRED option above in order to assure that your package  will not be left unattended. You can also have your shipment delivered  to a business address if you would prefer. Please be advised that all  inbound shipments to Brave Sole using our pre-paid return label are uninsured, and thus Brave Sole cannot be held responsible for  losses or damages during shipping. For lost or damaged packages, you will need to contact the carrier to file a claim. If you wish to insure  your shipment to and from Brave Sole, you will need to add Shipping Protection to your order, or purchase your own shipping service using the carrier of your choosing.

3.  Risk of Loss or Damage. Brave Sole or their partners shall be  responsible for costs and/or reimbursements associated with Repairs that  are lost or irreparably damaged while in the possession of either  Brave Sole or their partners. The value of the repairable items  shall be based on the estimated value provided by the customer at the  time the Repair is requested, which is based upon fair market value for  the items in their current condition and is subject to validation by Brave Sole. Neither Brave Sole, their partners, nor Brave Sole and their partners together shall be responsible for costs and/or  reimbursements in excess of 60% of original purchase price of the items sent in for repair up to a maximum of $500. Proof of purchase is  required.
 

4. Please do not include any accessories, such as shoe boxes, dust bags, shoe trees, etc. as we cannot store these items during the repair  process, and they will be discarded.
 

5. These initial prices and charges may not represent the final amount.  We can only finalize the total amount needed once we have received your items and assessed them in person. If the initial charges are  sufficient, then no additional funds will be required. However, in the  case that additional work and/or funds are required to complete the  repairs correctly, Brave Sole will contact you for approval and  payment. If you decide against proceeding with the  repairs, we will refund your order, minus any shipping and handling, and your items will be returned unrepaired. All Shipping & Handling fees are nonrefundable.
 

6. We take great pride in our craft. I will do everything we can to restore your beloved items to like-new condition. Occasionally, however, we are tasked with some impossible repair challenges. As a result, there is a small chance your items may return to you with visible repairs, or simply not to the level of restoration we had hoped for. We will do our absolute best to clearly communicate these instances with you after receiving your items  so that we can make repair decisions together. Brave Sole will do their best to repair articles to match their original designs as closely as possible using the materials we can source, which includes the use of aftermarket goods when we are unable to source OEM components. Because of this, repairs may look different or include components that differ from the original manufacturer. By placing your order, you are acknowledging this note. Should you have a quality issue with your repairs, please contact us within 14 days of receipt of your items and  we will be happy to discuss re-doing the work at no cost.
 

7. Be sure to drop your package at a location that accepts FedEx Ground shipments. Do not drop in a FedEx Express dropbox as this may delay your shipment by several weeks. Brave Sole cannot be held responsible  for lost packages whose tracking information show that the package is not currently or has ever been in FedEx's possession.

8.  Shipping & Handling charges are non-refundable. For any repair  orders that are cancelled, Brave Sole will return items and customer will receive a refund for the repairs, minus any shipping & handling fees. Offer for "Free Shipping on 2 or more items" must be claimed at time of order for 2 or more items in a single order (e.g. any  combination of 2 or more pairs of shoes, boots, bags, purses and/or  belts). For any cancellations on multiple item orders that receive "Free  Shipping on 2 or more items" offer, shipping charges will be applied  retroactively.

9.  When deemed necessary, Brave Sole will attempt to contact  customers using the phone number and email information provided in the order. For repair orders where pricing and information provided is sufficient, Brave Sole will attempt to contact customer via phone ("courtesy call") to confirm repairs and then will begin repair work shortly thereafter. If customer cannot be reached by phone, Brave Sole will leave this "courtesy call" message in a voicemail. For orders that require additional consultation, customer agreement/acceptance, pricing adjustments, orders with unpaid balances, payment information, and/or orders that have been marked as "HOLD"  during order placement, Brave Sole will make multiple attempts to  contact customers using contact information provided in the order. After 6 months from date of delivery to Brave Sole, if Brave Sole is unable to get in contact with the customer, customer agrees that the items may be deemed forfeit and ownership of all property in reference to above shall be transferred to Brave Sole. When applicable, Brave Sole may elect to either return the articles back to customer minus any shipping expenses, or maintain possession of the items as their own property. Any/all costs of returning items to customer will be  the sole responsibility of customer.

10.  All sales of shoe care products and accessories are final, non-returnable and non-refundable, unless deemed otherwise by Brave Sole management. This includes but is not limited to polishes, dyes,  pads, liners, laces, brushes, daubers, rags, stretchers, shoe trees,  boot trees, adhesives, shoe care solutions, cleaners, conditioners,  protectants, insoles, cushions, inserts, etc.

11.  For customers who are having articles repaired with the intention of reselling them afterwards ("Resellers"), please note that resell  articles may appear repaired after we complete our repair work. Customer agrees to this and accepts that Brave Sole cannot be held liable for any losses incurred during your resell process.

​

12.  We are going to service your articles (e.g. repair, dye, clean,  restore, etc) to the best of our abilities using the materials that we  have available. The majority of the time the work can be completed  successfully, however there are times when no matter what we do, the  work cannot be completed to the level of satisfaction that you were  hoping for (i.e. "No Guarantee Jobs"). Regardless of this, Brave Sole will still require payment for labor and materials and you  further hereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless the releases from  any loss, liability, damage or cost, including court costs and attorney's fees, that they may incur due to us providing our services. By accepting and placing your order, you are hereby agreeing to these terms.

​12.  Repairing items that include synthetic and/or man-made materials (e.g.  vinyl, pleather, nylon, plastic, elastic, patent leather, foam, rubber,  etc) come with inherent risks. In some cases, the attempt to repair  these items could result in further damage, as these materials are often  not easily repairable and the items being repaired were not originally designed to be repaired. In these situations, we will try our best to communicate these risks to you and perform the repairs to the best of our ability using the materials we can access, but there is no guarantee that the repairs will be satisfactory due to the nature of the  materials used in the design, manufacturing and assembly of the  articles. By placing an order with Brave Sole, you are accepting these and all the terms and conditions listed above and below.

Brave Sole has no control over, and  assumes no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or  practices of any third party sites or services. Limitation of Liability

In  no event shall Brave Sole, nor its directors, employees, partners,  agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for damages, direct or  consequential, resulting from your use of the Site, and you agree to  defend, indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, losses,  liability costs and expenses, including but not limited to attorney’s  fees, arising from your violation of any third-party’s rights.

Warranty Disclaimer

Your use of the Site is at your sole risk. The Site is provided on an “as  is” and “as available” basis. The Site is provided without warranties of  any kind, whether express or implied, including, but not limited to,  implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose,  non-infringement or course of performance. Brave Sole, its  subsidiaries, affiliates, and its licensors do not warrant that a) the Site will function uninterrupted, secure or available at any particular time or location; b) any errors or defects will be corrected; c) the Site is empty of viruses or other harmful components; or d) the results  of using the Site will meet your requirements.

Governing Law

This  Agreement (and any further rules, polices, or guidelines incorporated  by reference) shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of Colorado, United States, without giving effect to any principles of  conflicts of law.

Changes to This Agreement

We  reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these  Terms and Conditions by posting the updated terms on the Site. Your  continued use of the Site after any such changes constitutes your  acceptance of the new Terms and Conditions. Please review this Agreement  periodically for changes. If you do not agree to any of this Agreement  or any changes to this Agreement, do not use, access or continue to  access the Site or discontinue any use of the Site immediately.

Handcrafted Boots

Understanding our quality control when it comes to Handcrafted Boots


All of our products are built to what is in our opinion the highest quality standards 


What it is:

Here is a definition of high quality handcrafted boots; Handcrafted  Boots are constructed with leather, rubber, nails, thread, and screws.  I use "thicker than usual" leather, and generally last longer than other boots, and usually have an arch support with heels. 


What it's not:

Because of the handcrafted nature of my custom boots, here are  some disclaimers to be aware of that may vary and be uneven, offset, or  different, throughout each individual boot; the color, leather finish,  texture, thickness, stitching lines, spacing, eyelets, hooks, quarter  spacing, uppers positioning, heel counter position, sole stitching.  Stitching on uppers and soles may be frayed, or appear torn in some area. All of these things are normal for handcrafted boots. But please rest assured  that quality is not compromised. Appearances may be deceiving and  always take second priority when it comes to building quality handmade  boots.
